The Summer Fedora
Most will associate Fedoras with gangster films, Indiana Jones and the dreaded season of winter. You probably wont often hear fedora and summer in the same sentence but here I am, doing just that. Yes, you read the title correctly, this post is about the summer Fedora.
With all its head warming qualities the Fedora has long been a popular winter Fashion accessory. During the summer months the Fedora usually takes on a lighter weight fabric in the form of straw or linen. While I do love a good straw hat, nothing beats an original and I can never go past adding a hat in summer, even if it is made of felt or wool (call me insane, I don’t care!).
Obviously I wouldn’t go as far as wearing a black fedora in summer, that’s just taking transeasonal dressing to a ridiculous level. If you want to wear a classic fedora in summer make sure you opt for a lighter shade, maybe a latte or cream colour would be better suited to the warmer months.
Thankfully, I managed to track down the perfect summer fedora to save you all the searching. Roc Eyewear (designer of my fave blue shades that feature in nearly every post) also do a fantastic range of headwear. Just like their sunglasses collection, their headwear is super affordable. The bone coloured hat I am wearing below is an absolute steal for only $79.95 and will go with almost anything, here I have teamed it with some white denim cut offs, a lightweight shirt and some tan lace ups.
