The Denim Shirt
The denim shirt, like a pair of denim jeans, will never date or go out of style. The beauty of denim is that it is constantly evolving and always re-inventing itself and because of this there are a million different ways it can be styled. It can be dressed up, dressed down, layered, cropped, tie-dyed, frayed, flared, the list goes on.
Summer is nearing its end for the year and as sad as that may seem it means we can all start getting excited about winter fashion. The denim shirt is pretty much a transitional staple throughout the entire year. In Summer I like to tie mine around the waist, which just adds a sense of effortlessness to any outfit. In Autumn/Winter the denim shirt can be worn a number of ways, as it is and buttoned up, over the top of a T-shirt, under a coat, with a pair of jeans (double denim, the dreaded Faux pas) or, as I like to wear it, styled under my blazers.
Below I have paired my denim shirt with a pair of like coloured denim jeans (with rips of course) and my favourite blazer of the moment in my favourite colour of the moment (blush). This ensemble is super cozy and it makes for a nice change from the cable knit we always tend to layer with in the cooler months. Don’t forget to cuff your sleeves like the cool cats do!
