The Daily Edit: MBFWA Bec&Bridge
Bec & Bridge was the single most anticipated show for me this year. As mentioned in previous posts, they are my go to gals for the majority of events I attend so I was super excited to see what they had in store for the next season.
My Girls did not dissapoint. This collection appropriately titled ‘Due North’ represents the quintessential Bec & Bridge woman. A bohemian traveller who has roamed the globe creating her look over time. The Traveller theme was no where more evident than during the first half of the show where the audience was greated by loose fitting ensemlbes in chambray, denim and shredded fabrics with assymetric hemlines that were often left unfinished.
While most of the collection has an effortless and artisian feel, it still identifies with the modern party girl with their signature figure hugging frocks taking on a different edge this year.
Powder blue party dresses graced the runway alongside halter neck midis with cutouts, white minis baring the midriff, summer sheers and an array of bold striped ensembles.
This collection showcases designs which are wearable, comfortable, fashion forward and most importantly easy to wear, add on and re-create. This is what the label is inspired by, creating looks that people can have fun with. A perfect example of this is the bec and bridge outfit I wore to the show. I wore a black dress with an assymetric hemline, a striped crop top, black blazer with sheer sleeves and of course black Louboutins.
This is what I love about Bec & Bridge and what keeps me coming back to their designs over and over again…. FUN! Fun with prints, fun with colour, fun with length and for the wearer, fun with styling.
