Necessary Summer Sandals
Shoe shopping in summer can be overwhelming. There are so many trends and styles to choose from that often, to save the searching, we find ourselves living in our havi’s. And by ‘we’ I mean the majority because believe it or not I don’t and have never owned a pair of havianas. I have just never found them comfortable, cant stand the tan marks they leave and when they have been left out in the sun they are as hot as hell itself. I know, how un-Australian of me.
Regardless of your summer footwear preference the reality is we cant physically live in thongs for the entire summer. While most of us might try, and come very close, there are days and occasions which require a far classier and sophisticated style of shoe. I decided it might be a good idea to create a little post about necessary summer sandals. I thought long and hard about the word necessary because after all, as women, ALL shoes are necessary, however I came to the conclusion that you can get through summer with a total of three pairs of sandals. They just have to be the right ones.
Havianas aside, the three summer footwear necessities are: Black, neutral and leopard (Yes, Leopard is a necessity)
I really don’t have to explain why a black sandal is necessary do I? I’ll keep it short just in case. A black sandal, like any black accessory in your wardrobe will go with absolutely anything, it really is a no brainer. A neutral sandal, which will also go with anything will look far better than its black counterpart when paired with your lighter colours such as whites, greys, pastels, yellows etc. You could go for a plain nude sandal but I like to mix it up with my footwear and make a little bit more of a statement so decided a snake print neutral was more appropriate than the latter. Last but most definitely not least the Leopard print sandal. I have spoken often on my blog about my feelings toward leopard print so it should come as no surprise that the leopard on these particular sandals is extremely minimal. I think you really need some kind of a print in among your neutrals to mix it up a little.
I have shot all these sandals while wearing the same outfit, give or take a few T-shirt swaps so you can see how versatile they all are.
