Extra long sleeves have been a huge trend for the past couple of winters. I’m unsure of where the craze came from but I do understand the hype. Somehow, it makes any outfit look effortless and seamlessly thrown together. I like to call it the long limb trend because, put simply, it creates the illusion of some seriously long arms.
It’s usually pretty easy to jump on the bandwagon with the majority of trends, all you have to do is head out to the shops and buy whatever it is that’s in that season. Extra long sleeves however have proved impossible to track down, which is a shame because it’s such a fun and different look that I am sure a lot of people would like to re-create.
I thought I might put together a little post for those of us who would really like to adopt this trend but havent been able to track down shirts or knits with extra long sleeves. The best way to re-create this look is to buy a shirt that requires cuff links and just wear it extended without cuff links in. If you don’t want the end of the sleeves to flap around you can even wear cuff links in the shirt but just don’t fold the end of the shirt over like you normally would, leave it extended so the sleeves stay extra long.
