How to rock a superhero cape.
Chances are, no matter how hard you try you will still encounter superhero comments. Even my partner (who took all these photos) kept telling me I looked liked batman…Pfffffft Batman wishes he owned this cape!
Capes have been very popular over the last few seasons. The industry has recently seen a huge influx of caped dresses, cape tops, caped jackets, the list goes on. In my humble opinion I think it was a fleeting trend that has since phased out, as trends often do. In order for designers to continue to reinvent themselves they take simple trends, like the cape for example and work on ways to revamp it and make it modern and “trendy” again.
Exactly what the Designer of this cape top has done. Instead of creating a cape where you simply put your arms through the armholes and the top falls over your shoulders like the majority have done, he has gone a full traditional style batman cropped cape (now say cropped cape ten times).
The trick with this style of cape is to keep it simple, chic and tonal. If people are going to throw superhero comments your way, you want to be proud of it and own it and the only way you will be able to do that is if you have complete faith that your outfit is on point.
